Strange Electromagnetic Dimensions The Science of the Unexplainable Louis Proud Books

A very technical book. You don't sit down and read this like a story, but the information is invaluable because of the research that Louis Proud has done. It's made clear that electro-magnetics plays an integral role in psychic and/or unexplained phenomena. If you're a truth seeker and want the nuts and bolts, this is it.

Strange Electromagnetic Dimensions The Science of the Unexplainable Louis Proud Books Reviews

This is a fascinating book, an investigation into lightning, UFO’s and remarkable human abilities, and how these phenomena are tied together by nature’s electromagnetic web.

Many phenomena deemed anomalous and paranormal, including psychokinesis, ball lightning, earth lights, and spontaneous human combustion (SHC), are placed within an electromagnetic context and rendered comprehensible and profoundly interconnected. Mr. Proud's book reveals an interesting combination of science and spirituality.
Proud puts the whole panorama of electrically-related energies into unique, relatable perspective with easy-to-understand discussions of what they are and eye-opening accounts of how they affect the world around us, our bodies, and even our sensory (and perhaps extrasensory) perceptions. Who knew that electromagnetic fields can produce stress responses that lower our immune systems, or that people can actually become allergic to electricity?

In addition, Proud includes many case studies that imply possible connections between electrical sources and phenomena such as poltergeist activity, psychokinesis, and people who attract lightning or whose presence “breaks” streetlights and other electric devices. In this light, he even touches upon the idea of the human brain as ultimate quantum computer. That’s heady (pun intended--sorry) stuff.

Readers don’t need to be paranormal investigators in order to find Proud’s book truly sobering. Anyone who lives and works in electrified buildings–almost everyone in the industrialized world--may want to think about just how many artificially generated EM fields surround modern humans every minute of the day and night. Highly recommended, and it has a useful index, to boot!
Louis Proud raises some interesting questions about
the dynamics of electromagnetic phenomena. He
attempts to provide a rationale for historic dilemmas.
o Do humans possess a 6th sense (intuitively)?
o Can electromagnetic fields destroy our health?
o Can being struck by lighting result in psychic abilities?
o What are the consequences of ball lightening ?

For instance, ionizing strips electrons from atoms.
This process may have a negative impact on the
DNA; wherein, proteins are damaged and lose functionality.

A study by Ahmad showed that cryptochromes have a
potential to function in magnetoception. Would this
explain why foliage dies near high-powered voltage
lines. Ditto.. for unexplained incidences of various cancers.

The description of the pineal gland by Descartes is
very interesting. This is a small gland which has
elasticity in youth and calcifies later on. Descartes
believed that this gland was the seat of the soul.

Proud's book goes on to explain complex phenomena
like plasma and mysterious forces. Overall, the
questions he poses are substantial for people with
a modicum of understanding of science.
Engaging reading
Another great work by Louis Proud, in which he appears to have taken a different turn and explores several possibilities, outside the strictly 'supernatural' explanation, to analyse some fascinating phenomena.
A lightweight compilation of Fortean phenomena. If you have had no interest in odd, unexplained phenomena (Charles Fort was a noted investigator giving his name to "Fortean"), then you won't want to read this book. If you do have an interest, you most likely have already read books on ball lightning, books by Charles Fort, etc. In which case this slim tome won't add much to your knowledge. Mr. Proud is not a careful writer, referring to a person who got injured by electric shock but recovered as "electrocuted," while the term actually means "killed by electricity." He is also not honest in scientific reporting. He reports the French Academy investigating the case of "The Electric Girl" but omits telling his readers the final conclusion of the Academy--that this was fakery. Instead, he garnishes the truth by only telling the positive aspects of the investigation.
A pretty good book, UNTIL the author go's off on a right handed tangent into the outer limits of reality, and then he totally loses the readers with nonsensical theories There IS some solid Science Here, spread withing the nuts.
