"The Complete Knifepoint Horror" is a collection of horror short stories that covers all sorts of bases, from ghosts to zombies to cults. I found this book to actually be pretty scary. I tend to do most of my reading at night, and so I started this book around 11pm-12am. By around 2am, at the story of Seacrist Elementary School, I started to hear "bumps in the night," as did my dog, and it was at that point that I decided night-reading might not have been such a good idea. However, I did not heed that decision, and the next night, the same thing happened. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a good scare, and especially to those with varied tastes in their horror genres.

The only reason I denoted a star (and wish it could have only been a half-star) is the author's stylistic decision to keep everything lower-case with no paragraph separation. Perhaps it's just me, but I found it a little hard to read, and there were several occasions where I had to go back and read over certain portions because I had ran two sentences together and was confused. Other than that, this was an absolutely wonderful collection of horror, and I would definitely read it again. Although, during the day this time.

Had great potential but too much meandering in the story and too much focus on satanism which I quite frankly found boring. The suspense would build up really well then *bam* satanic cult again....
Amazing stories. Match the podcast nicely. I am almost to scared to go to bed at night now. I highly recommend it!
Awesome collection, difficult to navigate as a text, but adds to the appeal for me. I put post it's between different stories so I can maneuver through the book with greater ease.

Soren deserves a place in the pantheon of the great horror authors. The stories in this book are devastatingly minimal, with only the voice a man recounting the horror that befell him. The result is something uniquely disquieting and will leave the reader wanting more long after the last pages are read.
Soren Narnia is a master of horror on a par with M.R. James, Arthur Machen, and H P Lovecraft. If you are a fan of stories that tingle your spine and make your heart skip several beats, buy this collection. The only thing better is to hear him read his stories on his podcast by the same name.
I am always looking for a good book that will REALLY scare me.....make me think about the story for a long while after reading it. I haven't found many that do cause me to be afraid....but this book actually had a couple of stories that haunt me long after I have read them. It's the 'it could really happen' aspect of stories that really scare me and there were a couple of stories in here that felt that way.

The writing is set up without any paragraphs or capitalization so it can be a bit crazy in the beginning to try and read but then it ends up being easy because it flows like your mind thinking about things. I had no problem losing my place because I would just either finish the story and wait to start another one the next time or I would end at the bottom of a page and start the next page, etc.

If you are looking for a few good spooky stories......this is the book for you.....it is much better than much of the stuff that is out there because some are just pretty believable and that is what makes your heart skip a beat.....your hands shake a bit......and makes you shut all the closet doors... )
